We are so psyched to be able to share with you guys that this Thursday, March 14 at 6:30pm, 360 Allstars will be donating a percentage of every ticket sold for their incredible Adelaide Fringe show, to Lighthouse Youth Projects!
The show is a supercharged urban circus featuring basketball, breakdancing, beatboxing, acrobatics, drumming... and the 2 x World Champion BMX Flatlander!
We would be so thrilled if you would please come and support us and the show, bring as many friends as you are able, and be sure to select "LIGHTHOUSE FUNDRAISER" when booking your tickets online or at the box office.
As an added bonus, the guys from 360 all stars are gifting tickets to the show to some special kids that we work with, kids who would not otherwise get an opportunity to be treated to a night out like this, and we are so appreciative of this incredibly generous support of what we do here at Lighthouse.
The more people we can get along to see the show this Thursday night, the more money donated to LYP, which in turn, gives us the opportunity to help more kids!
Hope to see you there! Spread the word, tag as many mates as you can in this post, and share with as many people as you can!
We are stoked to be sharing with you an update from our newest program, RiDE, that is being delivered in Tasmania and South Australia. A partnership with MAS National, RiDE is designed to develop;
“Resilience through Inspiration & Determination leading to Employment for at-risk unemployed youth."
RiDE goes much deeper than just turning pedals over. We all know the benefits of exercise and how it can improve heath, wellbeing and enhance learning. The RiDE program seeks to take advantage of these benefits and is a mix of riding and vocational and non-vocational workshops aimed to improve skills and knowledge. RIDE is designed to give young people the best chance of success in employment or further training.
The changes we have seen in participants are nothing short of amazing! From incredible personal growth and confidence to securing traineeships and apprenticeships. The work each of our young people have put in has made us all extremely proud mentors.
"Our first intake for the RiDE Program had a 89% completion rate and with many positive employment and training outcomes"
Jamie Moore, Co-Founder, Lighthouse Youth Projects
This program is continuing to be delivered in South Australia and Tasmania. If you would like to find out more or offer your support [please click here get in touch](https://www.lighthouseyp.org/contact-us)!
Over the past few weeks, it's been awesome to see the bikes that were generously donated in our 2019 Drive to Ride make their way through another life cycle and hit the road again.
Not only is it great to see these steeds avoid hard rubbish, our little bit towards helping to reduce our impact on the world, but it’s been a ripper opportunity to teach kids at our Concrete Sessions tips and tricks to bike maintenance and repair!
The bike photographed was a cracker of an MTB generously donated, and we were happy to see it rolling again last week. We can't thank enough the donors who were willing to give their old mountain bikes a fresh spin with new riders.
Everyone at LYP is still buzzing after the big March fundraiser at the [360 Allstars](http://www.onyx-productions.com/360allstars/) show at Gluttony for the Adelaide Fringe.
Not only were we able to treat a group of very excited and deserving kids the opportunity to see behind the scenes at the incredible 360 Allstars show and meet pro bmx flatland rider Peter Sore, but a percentage of ticket sales on the night have also been donated to Lighthouse, which we are so stoked and grateful for. Every bit of support we receive gives us more opportunity to help local kids in need!
If you missed the show but still want to [donate](https://lighthouseyp.org/donate) towards LYP, we are always happy to accept donations, however big or small!
